Jack-O-Lantern Citrus and Granola Parfait
December 10, 2019Roasted Brussels Sprouts for the Holidays
December 16, 2019Well, spring has officially sprung (here in Texas at least), and with spring comes green grass, fresh flowers, kids running around with endless “second-winds” (and third winds, and fourth winds), and Easter. And with Easter comes the celebration of the resurrection and new life.
But it also comes with loads of Cadbury Creme eggs, Marshmallow Peeps, Robin’s Eggs, Chocolate Eggs, and the ever popular Chocolate Bunny. And let’s not forget the dozens of boiled Easter eggs the kids (and most of the adults too, if we’re honest) will devour after running around to find every last one hidden in the yard. And then there’s family lunch! Wow.
It can often seem too complicated to find a snack or treat that is fun and delicious (especially to your kids), but still healthy and of some nutritious value. Well it’s your lucky day! (No April Fools-ing here.) We have compiled a collection of our favorite Easter snacks that will help breathe a little health and a breath of fresh air into your Easter Celebration this year. So take a look around and pick your favorite, or go crazy and use these ideas to create your own! Let’s freshen up Easter lunch this year.
1. An Easter Bunny Fruit Snack
This little guy can be whipped up in no time, and makes for a cute and fresh breakfast on Easter morning or a great snack for a class Easter party.
Looking for an appetizer that won’t leave you no room for lunch? Throw out a bouquet of pineapple and grape roses- nice to look at and nice tasting!
3. Healthy Chocolate Dipped Peanut Butter Eggs {Raw and Vegan}
On the sweeter side, if you’re going to indulge, do it the right way. These healthy homemade peanut butter eggs are made with ingredients that you can feel good about (and pronounce!)
This is the perfect after school snack or appetizer. While you might be getting your fill of boiled eggs on Easter, adding veggies is a great way to spruce it up, and change up the taste a little. Get your little ones involved- cut up the veggies into different shapes and let them help make little bunnies and chicks!
5. Bunny Head Fresh Fruit Platter
Presentation is everything! You’ll probably have a fruit tray anyways, right? You can create platters that fit with the Easter themes, like this bunny fruit platter. Don’t sell yourself short- trays like these are much easier to put together than they look and they are sure to be a hit! (Careful though, you might get asked to do next year’s tray, too!)
The possibilities are endless! Stock up on fresh produce and get to chopping and creating your Easter masterpieces.
And don’t eat too many Cadbury Eggs. 🙂
