December 10, 2019Scrumptious graham crackers would be a better title! I do have to admit it has been a really long time since I have eaten store-bought graham crackers, but these homemade graham crackers taste better than the store-bought ones! No lie. So giving credit where it is definitely due, Weelicious is an awesome site for fabulous recipes. Check it out for this recipe and much more! She even has a chocolate graham cracker recipe that I will be trying very soon!
As always, my son thoroughly enjoyed helping me in the kitchen. He again tasted every ingredient and actually liked all of it. We mixed up all of the ingredients and got ready to roll out the dough. I didn’t have any parchment paper, so I used aluminum foil. It didn’t really work the best, but it was good enough. My toddler thought it was really fun to roll the pin back and forth.
Once I had the dough rolled out my little one immediately started eating the dough. The cookie cutters helped distract him a little bit, but none of his cookies quite made it to the cookie pan!
Then he started on the cookies I was cutting out. I had to move the cookie pan away from him because the cookie dough I cut out was disappearing quicker than I could replace them. (Anyone notice the cookies missing in front of him?)
I used miniature cookie cutters to make mine, and they turned out perfect little crackers. A friend of mine used normal cookie cutters, and they tasted like graham cracker cookies. They were very yummy, but the texture was soft like a cookie instead of hard like a cracker. So keep both in mind, depending on what taste you are going for.
I hope that you and yours enjoy making and eating these as much as my family did! I couldn’t even keep the little one away long enough to get a picture! 🙂
