This is the perfect snack or special treat for Easter. These Easter nests will win you the “best mom” award with very little effort on your part. Make sure you bring your kids into the kitchen with you, because this one is easy for the kiddos to get involved.
- 1 3/4 cups of rolled oats
- 6 tablespoons of margarine
- 1/4 cup brown sugar
- 1 tablespoon honey
- yogurt covered raisins, ~36
How to make it:
Preheat oven to 350. In a saucepan melt margarine, brown sugar, and honey on low heat until it starts to bubble.
Remove from heat and stir in oats.
Let the kids help by spooning the mixture into cupcake liners. Bake for 15 minutes. Remove them from the oven and let cool for 15 minutes.
Allow your kids to help by making a dip in the middle of the nest by using a small spoon or their fingers. It doesn’t have to be perfect.
Once the nest have completely cooled, they are ready for their eggs to be placed in the middle. Let your little ones place the yogurt covered raisins in the nest. (Good way to work on counting too.)
Be prepared for some eggs to go missing during the process.
Enjoy your Easter nests and the precious time in the kitchen with your little ones!
Rejoice! He is risen! Happy Easter!
