December 10, 2019Happy Mother’s Day weekend to all you moms! I hope you have a fantastic weekend of no dishes, cooking, and cleaning – maybe even breakfast in bed! I remember it being so much fun when my siblings and I would wake up “early” on Mother’s Day and make breakfast for my mom. Thank goodness for my older sisters’ help, or I think my mom would have just gotten cereal or toast. I know she would have loved it regardless. Such good memories.
As moms we often worry over and over again about our children’s health, eating, and anything else we can think to worry about, but today I want you to take Mother’s Day weekend as an excuse to worry about yourself. Are you taking care of yourself? Finding time to exercise? Eating healthy? Scheduling time for yourself to have fun? Have you been keeping up with your doctor visits? This time of reflection is definitely not for negative thoughts in case you responded with more ‘no’s than you wanted. You are a great mom! I know that you put your kids before yourself as do so many moms, but just for a moment take the time to think about yourself. Besides you need to take care of you, so you can keep up with your quickly growing kids. So get on the phone and make those doctor appointments, find some time to exercise, and maybe schedule a pedicure or massage appointment while you’re at it!
As for me, after I schedule my routine doctor visits that I’ve been putting off, I’m planning on taking a long bubble bath with a good book at some point this weekend. What about you? What is your favorite way to spend some ‘me’ time?
