December 10, 2019Okra is not one of those foods that I eat regularly or think about when I want a snack, but 3T (The Taste Tester) picked these out at the grocery store today. He does love his veggies, but I was surprised they grabbed his attention enough to point them out. So I picked up the bag and was pleased to find the ingredients were only okra, palm oil, and salt. Plus they have 6 grams of fiber. Okra is a good source for vitamin K, folate, and manganese. Talk about a healthy snack.
When we got home, we anxiously tried out our new snack. I loved them. They are very crunchy like potato chips. I do like fried okra and pickled okra too. I don’t think they were what 3T was expecting. He did eat one, but he didn’t go back for more. He did think they were very fun to crush. Mommy did not think they were very fun to clean up.
So next time you are being tempted to buy some potato chips, grab a bag of okra snacks instead. I think you’ll be pleasantly surprised! Happy healthy munching!
