December 10, 2019Easter Safety, in an Eggshell + Natural Easter Egg Dyes
December 10, 2019We’ve already gotten 3 weeks into our New Year’s Resolutions! How are yours going? I know it hasn’t been easy keeping those resolutions (I can’t tell y’all how many times I’ve wanted a diet coke this first week of being back at school), so we here at Indulge In Nutrition can empathize with you, and are so proud of you!
With that being said,
Tip #7 is…
Hang in there!
By this time in the year, I feel a little like this…
I’ve always heard that it takes 21 days to make a new activity become a habit. It’s tough for a while before you get to that point(see above photo), but HANG IN THERE, because you’re almost there! And the good news is that after about 6 months this new habit becomes a mindset and an actual part of your personality!!
So if you have kept up with your goals thus far, hang in there because you are well on your way to creating a new, healthy lifestyle that yourself and your family will thank you for.
Tip #8: Reward yourself
When trying to live a healthy lifestyle, it is important to not let it become too mundane. It is so important to let yourself have a reward every now and then when you have really been sticking to those goals. However, the first reward most people think of is food—not ok! It’s so counterproductive, and you have worked too hard to ruin your achievements on a sheet of No-Bake cookies (guilty!) There are plenty of ways to reward yourself that don’t involve food or spending a ton of money, which is normally where my second thought leads me.
Things like taking a long, hot bath or shower—my favorite, an at home facial, yoga instead of weight lifting, a nice walk instead of a run, a massage, a movie night at home, cooking with your family…anything that will make you relax or take time to do something you don’t get to do that often.
This weekend I made my way out to Hico, TX for a long weekend relaxation with friends! Taking in the beauty of nature and enjoying the company of friends, both old and new, was a great ending to a hectic week! After a long, hard week back at school, we took time to enjoy the sunset overlooking the lake.
Even if you’re not just getting used to a healthy lifestyle, taking time to enjoy life and the people around you is something you don’t wanna miss!
Make sure to check back next week for the last post in our January series!
